Origin
Afua Davis was Cotto's mother — physician, healer, and the living link to the bloodline the Davis name tried to fold into marble. She wore long black braids and gold like inheritance, not ornament. Ivory for the work of care; black and gold cloth for the country that made her. Her bracelet, tied to her tribe, is still in the world. The registry files her as legacy, not as a temple keeper. She is gone from the rooms Cotto walks. She is not gone from the power.
