Cotto Davis is the heart of Braided Power — a young Black woman raised inside the glass and marble of the Davis estate, trained on the gym floor, and watched in the halls of an elite academy. The world she was given is prestige, discipline, and a last name that opens doors. The world that is coming due is older. Braided Power is an inheritance passed through women of African ancestry, and it will not wait. If she does not complete the Temple ceremony before midnight on her eighteenth birthday, the connection is severed forever. Identity is everything in her world. Power lives in every braid — even the ones she has not yet been allowed to wear.
