Origin

Andy is filed as a Guardian — protection, guidance, combat support, historical education. The rules are older than he looks: he may advise, he may protect, he may not walk Cotto's path for her. Every descendant chooses. He is enigmatic, deadpan, and strangely precise, a young man in black who appears on the threshold between the Davis world and the one underneath it. The elevator is where Cotto first sees him. The safe room is where the night stops pretending to be ordinary. What he is, exactly, is not in the public file.
